How it works

Getting from "I need a deck" to a conversation with a builder who works near you.

  1. Call or send the form

Tell us your community and what you have in mind: a new deck, composite boards, repairs, stairs and railings, or a roof or screens.

  2. We hand it off

Your request goes to one independent deck builder that covers your area.

  3. The builder does the rest

They visit, estimate, handle the permit and do the work. Price, schedule and warranty are set by them.

What we are

Appleton Deck Builder is a referral service, not a contractor. We have no carpenters, set no prices, and don't charge homeowners anything.

Vetting a builder

Wisconsin requires a Dwelling Contractor certification and a Dwelling Contractor Qualifier on staff to pull a building permit for a one- or two-family home. Appleton's inspections office suggests asking for the state registration number and confirming permits and inspections were completed. Also ask for proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance, which municipality will issue the permit, and a written estimate covering footings, materials and warranty.
